Colombiamoda, a stage that brings together the best of Colombian talent

  • The Trends Forum, Vogue Talents Corner, and the Summer Party TigoUne-Discovery Home & Health, opened the fashion components of the 28th edition of Colombiamoda, Colombia’s Fashion Week.
  • The Trends Forum of the Inexmoda Fashion Lab, was the place where exhibitors, buyers, and visitors began their tour through the Trade show in order to save time and discover quickly the exhibitors’ proposals of commercial samples.

 July 2017. The most important business, fashion, and knowledge trade show of Latin America—Colombiamoda–opened its doors on a new edition, and fashion took over various corners of the Trade show to display to visitors, exhibitors, and buyers, the Latin American talent that meets during three days for Colombia’s Fashion Week.

 

The Trends Forum, an eye-opener of what can be found in its 7,400 mts²

To begin a tour of the Trade show, visitors are invited to stop by the Trends Forum, a place developed by the Inexmoda Fashion Laboratory, where Colombiamoda’s commercial offer is displayed through exhibitor’s samples, from its markets (feminine, masculine, children’s, textiles, and supplies) to the accompanying various product categories (footwear, handbags, and jewelry): a strategic and inspiring place to discover the fashion concepts that will be present at the Autumn-Winter 17/18 yearend season.

Knowledge, the main factor in the products of Inexmoda, was also a part of the Trends Forum.  During the day we shared our research relating to the next season, and SENA, one of our allies, spoke on anthropometry, a brand opportunity.  In the two remaining days, talks by various companies such as Draft, Artextil, and Avery Dennison, will be carried out, another of the activities that demonstrates that, stemming from teamwork, we continue linking knowledge with people to empower the Fashion System.

Vogue Talents Corner, disruptive fashion proposals

For its part, the Vogue Talents Corner again linked with Colombiamoda as a stage where original designs in jewelry and apparel are main players, reflecting as Colombian the creativity and talent of the Fashion System.

For this edition, the space grew in square meters–350 mts² in all–where authenticity, exclusivity, and designer’s care for details were exhibited, showing the international and national visitors an expert market, open to new business opportunities, geared to expand and cross other boundaries.

“We want talent to be recognized, and the Vogue Talents Corner extols it. This is an ambivalent place that offers B2B and B2C connections due to the exclusivity of the produced pieces, with the goal that consumers will identify with some of them and will contribute economically to the country’s talent.  Here you will also find the Trunk Shows, a format linked to fashion and close to the end consumer, so that as observers, they perceive the product each brand exhibits,” affirmed Clara Henríquez, Director of Commercial Platforms at Inexmoda.

During the Trade show, 10 brands will strut through the Vogue Talents Corner venue, among them being Natalia Londoño, Miss Balanta, Daniella Batlle, Fedesmeralda, Carolina Estefan, and others.

The Summer Party TigoUne- Discovery Home & Health revolutionizes fashion

For the first time the Trade show is joined by the Summer Party TigoUne- Discovery Home & Health, a place filled with color, sand, beach elements, and refreshing drinks, created to exalt in a sensory way the Beachwear, Swimwear, and Activewear categories.  With its tropical environment, it is a stage that is united with the latest fashion trends for these worlds through Summer Shows, runways of Colombian brands to which exhibitors, shoppers, and final consumers attended.

This proposal emerged to give visibility to those brands that do not have a physical sales location, but instead advertise through other channels such as social media, for technology has been one the greatest allies of this industry. In this way, as a knowledgeable, linking, and transforming institute, we were able to discover new talents and show them through platforms such as Colombiamoda, Colombia’s Fashion Week.

Krytzel Mota, Creative Director of AWA Clothing (a bathing suit brand that has had an active participation in Colombiamoda as well as in Epica, Innovation Challenge, an Inexmoda project with the Medellin government), stated: Being part of the Summer Party guarantees us visibility and the ability to reach more people through the products displayed on the stands and the runway we had today. It is the first day of the Trade show and we have already achieved connections with buyers from the United States and Mexico, an opportunity to grow internationally.      

Other brands such as Entreaguas, Sea Reinas, îlot, and Elissa Beachwear, presented their collections during the first day of the Trade show. The Summer Shows will carry on through Wednesday, July 26th, and Thursday, July 27th.

Colombiamoda 2017 ratified the power and potential that Colombian designers and brands have in materializing their dreams by the tangible development of their products, generating recognition abroad for their quality and creative techniques.
